David Katilius is a freelance musician, composer, and educator residing in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to his work with Earsight, he currently performs with multiple projects around the Upstate area. David holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Magna Cum Laude distinction from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
While attending Berklee, David received instruction from many of the world's most prominent bass players, including Lincoln Goines, Gary Willis, John Patitucci, Lee Sklar, Eddie Gomez, Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, and Victor Bailey, and also got the chance to perform with internationally-recognized acts Sinbad and Brian McKnight.
With the ability to instantly adapt to any musical environment, he quickly became a high-demand bass player around the Boston area, a tradition he has continued since moving back to the Upstate. David has been fortunate to share the stage with some of the Upstate's finest musicians, including Craig Sorrells, Big Tez Sherard, Charles Hedgepath, Bobby Gaines, and the Marcus King Band.
When he's not gigging, David works as an Audio/Visual Technician for the TD Convention Center in Greenville. He is also an educator and composer in the marching percussion arts and has worked with many high schools in the Carolinas, and is currently the Front Ensemble Arranger/Coordinator for the Marching Band and Indoor Percussion ensembles at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.
